Chief Bruce Owens Police Deparment
The police department currently employs 80 sworn police officers, 20 civilians, 15 police cadets, and 25 reserve police officers. In addition, we have a police chaplain that volunteers his time with the department. The department is headed by Chief Bruce Owens and is very actively involved in Community Oriented Policing. We protect and serve approximately 45,000 citizens in our town limits, located within Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties and the thousands of folks who transient our town each day.
