Insurance Review Tips
- Review your insurance coverage with your insurance agent to ensure you know what your policy covers.
- Write down your basic insurance information such as the name and phone number of your insurance agent, policy number and claims phone number. Keep this information with you if you evacuate.
- Ask your agent what you can do to reduce your chance of a loss.
- Update your household inventory. Make a list and take photos or video to document your belongings and store this inventory docuementation in a safe place outside your home.
- Check to see what your deductibles are and how your insurance will handle damaged, stolen or destroyed items.
Power Pointers
- Do not touch downed power lines.
- Do not touch tree limbs or other objects touching a power line.
- Do not tie generators into the house circuit. This can be dangerous to you, your neighbors and to linemen.
- If the power goes out while you are cooking, turn the stove off and remove all cookware from stove and oven.
- Do not open refrigerators or freezers during an outage unless absolutley necessary. Cold air will escape and food will thaw more quickly.
- If you smell gas, leave your home immediately. Call 1-888-333-4465 ASAP.
