Weber Fire Station

The Summerville Fire & Rescue Department is a combination paid/volunteer department. The department consists of 87 career and 43 volunteer fire suppression personnel. Chief Marc Melfi heads the department. Suppression personnel are divided into 3 Battalions working 24 hour and 15 minute shifts.

Emergency services rendered include, but are not limited to, fire suppression; fire investigation; vehicle and industrial extrication; hazardous materials incident response; disaster preparedness and response; emergency medical first responder services; and mutual aid to other local fire and law enforcement agencies.

In addition, the department provides fire prevention education and local training to local businesses, industry, churches, schools, and civic organizations. Department personnel are also heavily involved in various student mentoring programs at the elementary and high school level

Fire department management recognizes that our personnel are our most valuable asset, and as an organization, we stand by to perform any job requested by the Mayor and Council, and to assist the community with tasks that other agencies are unwilling or unable to perform.

We dedicate our efforts to provide for the safety and welfare of the public through fire suppression, education, prevention, and other emergency and non-emergency activities.
